Below are my personal choices for some of our more traditionally-minded publishing houses. Several carry previously out-of-print books and those that are now translated into English, and many offer curriculum and resources for our home use.

Catholic Book Publishing Corp. is proud of its unique history and long-standing commitment to the publication of timely and timeless Catholic resources. Work on the Douay-Rheims Bible began in 1945, culminating in the publishing of the first Catholic Bible printed in the United States in 1949. Howard Cavalero, a graduate of the University of Notre Dame, was instrumental in developing and launching the St. Joseph Sunday Missal in 1950 and soon thereafter the Daily Missal. On its way to becoming the premier Catholic publisher with over 300 employees, the company added children’s books to its growing list of prayer books in 1955 and then the first Baltimore Catechism in 1961.

Cluny Media is a Rhode Island-based publishing house dedicated to promoting the Catholic tradition and supporting evangelization initiatives with great books that speak of truth, goodness, and beauty.

Corpus Christi Watershed is a 501(c)3 public charity dedicated to exploring and embodying as our calling the relationship of religion, culture, and the arts. This non-profit organization employs the creative media in service of theology, the Church, and Christian culture for the enrichment and enjoyment of the public.

Ignatius Press is a Catholic publishing house that was founded by Father Joseph Fessio in 1978. In 1979, they published their first book and their catalog has expanded considerably since then, having published a wide selection of books across a range topics including apologetics, history, philosophy, spiritual growth, biographies and memoirs, general theology, current issues, science and faith, and more. They also occasionally publish fiction and books for children. 

Immagini Sacre Magazine is the work of The Pelligrini Family of Catholic Printing Press, and is a historical documentary/photography journal of our own personal collection of rare, vintage holy cards from the mid 1800’s. We aim to preserve and document this important time of the church so it will not be forgotten.This Magazine was consecrated to The Sacred Heart of Jesus through the Immaculate Heart of our Sorrowful Mother in 2022 before issue one first release.  

Liguori Publications is a leading provider of award-winning Catholic publications for parishes and individuals in every stage of faith and life. A ministry of the Redemptorists, Liguori publishes inspirational and educational print and digital books, catechetical and faith formation programs, newsletters, pamphlets, Vacation Bible School programs, and parish bulletins.

Loreto Publications is a Catholic missionary apostolate specializing in the publication and distribution of Catholic books designed to aid Catholics in their efforts to convert America to the Catholic religion and to aid the ministers of the Church in their apostolic and ministerial duties and apostolates.

The St. Paul Center is a nonprofit research and educational institute that promotes life-transforming Scripture study from the heart of the Church. The Center serves clergy and laity, students and scholars, with research and study tools— from books and publications to multimedia and online programming.

Mediatrix Press is a small family run imprint dedicated to bringing good Catholic books back in print as well as the translation of titles not seen before in English. Based in New Hampshire, Sophia Institute Press is a non-profit organization that publishes books that nurtures the moral, spiritual, and cultural lives of their readers. One of their main goals is to spread the Gospel of Christ in accordance with the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church. The press was founded in 1983, and they have since published more than 200 titles. They mainly publish non-fiction books on spirituality, philosophy, and theology.

Our mission at Tumblar House is to provide the best Catholic books online in our store. We provide books that will help to create saints.  The Online Bookstore section contains over 900 of the BEST Catholic books from other Catholic publishers, handpicked for quality and orthodoxy. We have a passion for promoting spiritual classics, and also carry one of the biggest collections of Catholic fiction. Authors included:  Coulombe, Fr. Ripperger, Biersach, Chesterton, and so many, many more.

(Our) main objective is to raise the quality of traditional Catholic books in order to make them more appealing to a wider audience. The first title (we)  published was the Douay-Rheims Bible – the first re-typeset edition for several decades. The company has made history by updating and republishing a number of titles that previously were out of print for many decades. In 2004 the company was the first to publish the 1962 Daily Missa/Little Office of the Blessed Virgin to include the Gregorian Chant and the republication of the Carmelite classic Divine Intimacy. In 2012 after five years of preparation, Baronius Press released the first 1963 Roman Breviary in nearly fifty years.
